As a student, I was exposed to technology at a young age. In elementary school, we had different electives which included a technology class. In middle school, most teachers used projectors, power point presentations, Microsoft word and other technology to deliver instructions to students. In high school and in college, most of our textbooks and homework were to be read and done online. I believe that K-12 enabled to acquire decent knowledge on the basics of technology.
During this semester, I hope to familiarize myself with the different kinds of technology available to everyone so that in the future, I will be able to take advantage of these resources and assist my students if they have any sort of trouble with technology. I want to improve my skills in using Microsoft word and powerpoint and navigating the internet in a productive manner.
I am mostly a Sensing learner. This means that I like to learn facts and have an easier time remembering them rather than grasping new concepts. I am also more of a Reflective learner than an Active learner. I usually like to think about things first and then do them rather than trying them out first. I also prefer to work alone but have no inconvenience working with others. Overall, I can relate to all the learning styles in some way.

  1. Wonderful post! I appreciate your interest in wanting to learn more about technology so that you can help your future students with any issues they may have. You'll be surprised how often you are "technical support" for your students!
